Nevertheless She Persisted...

What happens when you have worked on changing something for over twenty years and you are finally heard and actions are taken - SPEECHLESS.

Back in November 2016, after 20+ years of letter writing, I shot out more emails and letters, in what I was calling my last ditch effort that maybe someone will listen.  Shockingly they did.

KOMO Investigative reporters agreed to do a story.  That was aired 11-3-2016.  Then Trump was elected and we waited.  Fast forward to January of 2017 when KOMO announced that most of the Investigative reporting team was being laid off, I was in a bit of a panic, but Jon Humbert wasn't going to let this story go, before he was gone.

January 31 - He did it, he was able to conjure up a meeting with myself and Senator DelBene and do a follow-up story that aired on his last day.  The bill was being dropped on the house floor sometime in February and finally military retirees wouldn't be exempt from garnishment.

Fast forward to February 16, and the information came that the bill was dropping the next day and the media might be reaching out regarding the bill and my story.  KIRO called a couple hours later and did a phone interview for the radio.

Shock and awe - this was real, the bill was really going to be introduced.  This is only the beginning, but its there, its dropped and finally someone listened.

Now we wait for the vote - that could be many many months away.  Stay tuned.
